Forster's job in the balance, fair work ombudsman called in for negotiations
Lawyers have been spotted at the YMCA this morning as a work dispute between Sam Forster and Jack Dunstan surrounding the Kunyung Cup heats up.
This follows a meeting with the Fair Work Ombudsman three days ago, where it was reported that Forster was worried about his job and potential unfair dismissal.
“I think it’s completely fair,” stated Dunstan, “why should I have to work with someone who is seen to be a superior cricketer than me?”
Contrary to Dunstan’s continual denial, these comments seem to confirm the reports that if Ranelagh were to beat Moondah, Dunstan would be firing Forster on the spot.
When he was approached for comment, Forster announced that he would not be allowing these threats to be influencing his performance.
“May the best man win,” said Forster, “if I get fired after the tournament, the Kunyung Cup won’t be the only thing Jack will be losing!”
Whether he means a financial loss or a loss of dignity remains to be seen, and hints to this not being the last problem coming out of Camp Manyung.
